The location is University of Auckland Grafton Campus (https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/fmhs/about-the-faculty/our-faculty/campuses/grafton.html) AMRF Auditorium for all 4 keynotes and Seminar Room G100 (signage will be provided) for the Friday Panel.

They keynotes are all in person speakers flown in from around the world:

  • Thursday 9am-10am - Mary Shaw (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Shaw_(computer_scientist)) who coined the term software architecture is going to extend her History of Programming Languages talk earlier this year on “Myths and Mythconceptions: What does it mean to be a programming language, anyhow?”
  • Thursday 2pm-3pm - Robert O’Callahan - a local (http://www.ocallahan.org/) Googler famous for bringing Mozilla Corporation office to New Zealand who will talk about his latest venture into record and replay debugging (https://rr-project.org/) in “The State Of Debugging in 2022”
  • Friday 9am-10am - Takashi Iba - the author of many books on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Books-Takashi-Iba/s?rh=n%3A283155%2Cp_27%3ATakashi+Iba) including “Words for a Journey: The Art of Being with Dementia” that is used around Japan Elderly that applies Pattern techniques to the real world, he will talk on “Improving the Quality of Creative Practices with Pattern Languages”
  • Saturday 9am-10am - Atsushi Igarashi - the inventor of “Featherweight Java” in his work with Benjamin Pierce and Phil Wadler responsible for bringing generics to the Java world around 15 years ago, will reflect on his journey through programming languages, type systems, and verification in a name catching: “(I Can’t Get No) Verification”

Finally, last but not least, Steven Fraser, will host a panel on “Software Profession Dimensions of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” on Friday 10:30am - 12pm in a different room (Seminar Room G100 - signs provided).

All we ask, is as unregistered attendees, you please let our badge wearing attendees have their first dip at the morning teas/coffees provided by the conference, but otherwise feel free to come join the above talks, and mingle with the attendees in the breaks afterwards!
